Online tracking & project in residence

Pascal Flork offers several services to help you follow the progress of your audio post-production online: a dedicated and secure server for all data and file exchanges, and for listening to work in progress. If you need to immerse yourself in the sound of your production, Pascal “pako” Flork can also welcome you for a studio residency.

Online monitoring is not incompatible with a studio residency

Not every stage of audio post-production is necessarily interesting to follow in real time; taking a step back is often necessary to rediscover your production and its sonic development.
Pascal Flork offers two types of services that are often seen as contradictory, but are in fact complementary:
– A web-based platform giving you access to a private area (via the website), where you can upload and download files, as well as watch or listen to work in progress (as part of an audio post-production).
– A studio residency at a specific stage of your project – for example, during the mix – in a quiet countryside environment, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the sound of your production.

More than a website, more than a cloud: a real platform for file exchange, messaging, viewing and listening online

Everything is fully managed and controlled by Pascal Flork, from the server side to the website itself and file hosting. The goal has always been to retain complete knowledge and control of this infrastructure; this is an additional guarantee for the security of your data and files. Pascal has been working on this since 2009, continually training on new technologies.
For you as a client, your interface is the website. In addition to the presentation of Pascal Flork’s activities, you can request the creation – or directly create from your account – a private page that will host your project. This page will only be accessible to you (and any guests you choose) and to Pascal Flork.

The platform is accessible 24/7 and is hosted in one of the largest European data centers.

Here are the services offered by this space dedicated to your production project:

  • Upload your audio, video and AAF or OMF2 export files (drag & drop supported), for example as part of an audio post-production.
  • Upload or write notes of intent and highlight the points that require special attention.
  • Download files made available after a recording session.
  • Listen to and/or watch a stage of audio post-production, whether for HDTV, cinema, web or music projects.
  • Listen in your usual reference conditions, where you have all your listening benchmarks.
  • Follow and review the progress of the work in progress.
  • Comment and/or request changes.
  • Approve the final stage of the work.
  • Download the final master audio files.

There is nothing “virtual” about any of this: this reliable infrastructure is a practical working tool that Pascal Flork makes available to productions, creators, composers, directors, and more – and it is included as part of the service.

A studio residency: immerse yourself in the sound of your project

Mixing is most often the final stage of post-production. At this point it can be difficult to maintain enough distance to have a broad and objective view of the project. Mixing is a key stage that connects all the elements of post-production, especially the sound. There are several ways to step back and regain objectivity. One of them, beyond the studio residency itself, is a method for approaching and appreciating audio post-production more effectively:

Take advantage of the online monitoring service to gain perspective, while still keeping an ear on the work in progress.

The studio residency takes place in a countryside studio, far from daily distractions (but with all modern communication comforts) – about 2h40 from Paris (by train) or from London (by plane). Stepping out of your usual context helps you work more efficiently, by allowing total immersion in the project and making the most of the distance you have gained. It also helps you develop an objective view of the overall result, fully appreciating the sound environment that marks the final stage of your post-production. Whether for one or several days, depending on the project, you benefit from a quiet atmosphere and a pleasant setting, ideal for focusing on what matters most and enjoying the finished work.
